We walk with you through pregnancy and help you prepare for the beautiful and challenging journey of motherhood. You won’t have to face it alone.

We’re more than a shelter. We’re a residential program.

Women apply to live here and, if accepted, commit to working toward goals they set for themselves—with guidance and support from our team. Life at the home includes shared responsibilities, house guidelines, and a structure designed to help each woman grow in stability and confidence.

Women can stay at the Mother of Mercy Home throughout their pregnancy and for up to one (1) year after baby is born.

Who can apply?

Expectant mothers, over 18 years old, who are ready for a fresh start.

  • Sober for at least 30 days

  • Experiencing homelessness or housing instability

  • All women, regardless of income, race, or religion, are welcome to apply

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate women with other children at this time.

Program Features

From transportation to help grocery shopping, our program is designed to help you build the future you and your child deserve – starting with a stable place to eat and sleep.

Case management & counseling

Each resident meets weekly with a case manager who helps her set goals, stay on track, and access the resources she needs. Whether it’s finding a job, continuing education, or planning next steps after the program, our team is here to walk alongside each woman as she works toward a stable and hopeful future.

Residents take part in regular classes on budgeting, saving, and managing money wisely. These sessions are designed to help women build a strong financial foundation for themselves and their baby—both during their time at Mother of Mercy and after they transition to independent living.

Motherhood support classes

Our program is built around community support and education. Every mom at the Mother of Mercy Home participates in parenting classes during baby’s first year so they can feel confident as they step into motherhood. We partner with lactation consultants, parent educators, and experienced moms to come alongside our residents during that exciting first year of baby’s life.

Education & Job Placement

Whether moms are trying to continue their education or find a steady job, Mother of Mercy staff and community partners work with each woman to secure employment or finish their education. We help residents find childcare options that fit within their budget, and we journey with them as they learn to balance motherhood and providing for her family.

Doula support & pregnancy classes

Residents will receive classes from licensed RNs with experience in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and pregnancy. Classes will also include weekly sessions with our doula who will accompany them throughout their pregnancy and during the postpartum period.

Building Independence

Mother of Mercy Home comes alongside new and expecting moms as they invest in themselves. Whether it’s learning how to cook for a family, gardening, or cleaning, our program works with residents to develop the skills necessary for independent living.
